The famously outspoken Draymond Green recently made his thoughts on the current state of the NBA pretty clear when he used “very boring” to describe the league. Most fans would probably agree he had a point, but Oscar Robertson couldn’t stop himself from firing back while implying he’s been carried by Steph Curry during his time with the Warriors.

It seems safe to assume Draymond Green will end up enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame after he decides to bring his time in the NBA to an end.

The 34-year-old may not have the most eye-popping stats at first glance (he’s averaged 8.7 points, 5.6 assists, and 6.9 rebounds per game in the 854 regular season contests he’s played midway through the 13th season of his career), but they don’t reflect the impressive defensive prowess that has played an instrumental role in the Warriors winning four NBA titles during his time with the only team he’s played for since being drafted with the 35th overall pick in 2012.

Green has never been shy to speak his mind during his time in the league, and during All-Star Weekend, he joined the chorus of the many NBA detractors who’ve bemoaned the product the league is currently trotting out by describing most games as “very boring” while saying the results primarily hinge on “who can run faster [and] who can hit more threes.”

That complaint stems from the analytics-driven offensive strategies that have become an issue to the point where Adam Silver has acknowledged the NBA is exploring potential tweaks, but there’s another notable name who doesn’t seem to feel the same way: Hall of Fame guard Oscar Robertson.

The man who punched his ticket to the All-Star Game 12 times during a legendary career that spanned 14 seasons got the chance to respond to Green’s assessment during an interview with SiriusXM where he bluntly stated “Who cares what Draymond says?” while asserting the big man may be bored because of how much of Golden State’s gameplan involves him passing the ball to Steph Curry.

Robertson hedged a bit by acknowledging “I think he knows how to play basketball,” but you don’t have to read between the lines to figure out who he believes deserves the bulk of the credit for the Warriors dynasty.
