Bueckers, who will very soon be named as the Rookie of the Year in the WNBA, arrived to UConn in 2020. She personally recruited Fudd, a rising fifth-year senior, to UConn in 2021.
They played four seasons of college basketball together for the Huskies. They were practically inseparable during their time in Storrs. Their connection runs deeper than a backdoor cut at Gampel.
At the very least, Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd are best friends. Is there more to it? We don’t know.
The internet loves to speculate on a possible romantic relationship between the two UConn legends but there is no way to confirm. In fact, both athletes have reiterated at various points in time that their relationship is purely built on an enduring sisterhood. It started in college. It continues today.

The most recent update is even more telling. Azzi Fudd posted a photo on Instagram that featured her phone case. It reads: “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend.”
Is this the confirmation we have all been waiting for? I find it hard to believe it’s not but I could also see this being an elaborate troll. Maybe Fudd really is Bueckers’ girlfriend. Maybe it’s a figure of speech.
