The UConn women’s basketball team dominated South Carolina over the weekend, beating the Gamecocks 87-58 in Columbia on Sunday. Star guard Paige Bueckers played a pivotal role in the win.

Bueckers narrowly missed out on a triple-double while leading the team in assists. After getting off to a quick start, she was nabbed by ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe for a halftime interview.

The senior wanted absolutely nothing to do with that conversation. Her reaction to being pulled aside is now going viral on social media.

Another angle gave a better look at the comical response. She didn’t even try to hide it!

Paige Bueckers tallied 12 points, 10 dimes, and seven boards on the night. The most prominent player on the Huskies‘ roster, it wasn’t a surprise to see her targeted by the network for an on-air interview.

With that being said, she didn’t appear happy to have cameras on her. In fact, it looked like she was purposely avoiding the ESPN crew while trying to sneak away to the locker room unnoticed.

It almost worked, but she was grabbed at the last second. Despite her frustration, she was completely professional while speaking with Rowe.

Paige Bueckers was an important piece of UConn’s win over South Carolina. Despite holding a 22-point halftime lead, she wanted no distractions. The guard was dialed into the basketball action. Unfortunately for her, this comes with the territory given her stardom. It will only continue as she moves into the WNBA next season.
