Whether you are brand new to golf or have been hitting the links for years, there is always room for improvement. Which is why golfers like Paige Spiranac, who knows more about the sport than most, often share their thoughts on the finer points of the game with their fans.
Spiranac, one of the most followed golfers on social media, is always trying to grow the game. She advocates for ways to make golf more fun and accessible, and is always willing to share tips to help others get better at playing it.
In March, she shared a very in-depth video she called her COMPLETE guide to chipping. The 32-minute video covered everything from setup and ball position to how to hit a flop shot and chipping out of the rough.
This month, Paige Spiranac is sharing her COMPLETE putting guide. In the little over 14-minute video, she hits on things like the putting grip, stance and ball position, the putting stroke, as well as other related topics such as the eye line drill and how to read a green. Other chapters include how to set up for a putt, reading putts, alignment and speed control.
During one of the more fascinating portions of the video, the eye line drill (3:38), she explains, “Your eye should be just slightly behind the ball. Just slightly. So when I put the ball up to my left eye and I drop it, it should hit right here on this golf ball [on the side of the ball facing you]. If I’m too far away the ball is going to drop here [on the ground behind the ball]. If I’m too close, the ball will drop in front. The goal is to get in the right position so it drops perfect like that. … So you want to land it just slightly on the golf ball, but just a little bit behind it and that is the absolute perfect setup.” She then proceeds to nail it on her first try.
Check out that tip and the rest of Paige Spiranac’s COMPLETE putting guide below.
Spiranac also recently shared a video showing how she sets up her golf bag. See if she does it any differently than you do.
