Popular golf influencer Paige Spiranac is back with another one of her helpful golf videos.
This week, as part of her ongoing “Just the Basics ” series that she posts every Tuesday, she reveals what to do the first time you visit a golf course.
“Okay, so you have all of your equipment and you’re ready to go play some golf – but what do you do when you get to the course??” Paige Spiranac writes in the video’s description.
“So first off, when you get to the golf course you’re going to go to the clubhouse,” Spiranac explains in the video. “That is the main hub where you check in.
“You can get food. Most importantly, you can get some drinks because you’re going to need them on the golf course. And you just kind of relax.
“That’s where you have the men’s locker room, the women’s locker room, you can change your shoes, check in, get your tee time, get your range balls, everything that you want is going to be at the clubhouse.”

Paige then goes in depth on an “unwritten rule” of country clubs that leads one to believe that she has personally had a negative experience with somewhere at some point in her golf career.
“This is a weird unwritten rule and golf, which I think is so incredibly stupid, but I want you guys to be in on the know,” she shares.
“So when you’re at a very nice private country club, they get really upset when you change your shoes in the parking lot. That is a huge no no. I’m going to repeat that> Do not change your shoes in the parking lot! They hate that.
“So if you’re going to change your shoes, bring a shoe bag with you. You can go into the locker room, most of the men’s locker rooms are really nice, so I have heard. I’ve never experienced one. I always get the little shack on the side, but we can discuss that another time.
“But the men’s locker rooms are really nice, so bring your little golf bag with you with your shoes. Change them in there or you can just wear your golf shoes to the golf course. There’s no shame in that either, but do not change them in the parking lot. It’s a weird unspoken golf rule and I still don’t know why, but don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t do it.”
