WNBA players sent a message to the owners at the WNBA All-Star game. The current CBA is set to expire in October, and WNBA All-Star captains Napheesa Collier and Caitlin Clark discuss the importance of getting paid fairly in their next contract with the league.
“We’re on a time crunch. No one wants a lockout,” said Collier of the Minnesota Lynx. “But at the end of the day, we have to stand firm, and we’re not going to be moved on certain topics. So hopefully the league comes back quickly so that we can get have more dialogue, more conversations and can get the ball rolling.”
“We should be paid more, and hopefully that’s the case moving forward, as the league continues to grow,” Clark told the media. “That’s something that’s probably the most important thing that we’re in the room advocating about.”
During the pregame warmups of the WNBA All-Star game, players, including Caitlin Clark, sent a message to the owner by wearing t-shirts that read, “Pay us what you owe us.”
