Kevin Moore was somehow able to walk away from a WILD wreck while racing in The Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series at Speedway 660. He went flying over the dirt barrier that looked a lot like the General Lee in the Dukes of Hazzard.
It is a miracle that nobody was injured.
Wrecks happen in racing of all different sizes and severity. This latest crash is the most bizarre crash I have ever seen— and, now that we know he is okay, the funniest crash I have ever seen.
Speedway 660 is not fully fenced.
Speedway 660 is located in Geary, New Brunswick. The 1/3-mile Canadian oval course sits approximately 100 miles northeast of Maine.
Here’s the issue.
Only one half of the track is blocked off by a fence. Only the grandstands on the front straightaway and far turn are secured to protect the patrons.

The rest of the track is completely exposed. It is surrounded by a small dirt mound (a berm, if you will) and that’s it.
And, as we saw at the most recent Late Model race, that small dirt mound might actually create an even bigger hazard. The berm is supposed to act as a safety precaution to slow down any race cars that might veer off of the track but the cars instead become projectiles.
The Super Late Model Series went airborne.
Kevin Moore was working the outside line as he entered into turn one. Darren MacKinnon went through the middle line and forced him to run even wider.
As they exited turn two, Moore was right on the right quarter panel of MacKinnon. There was no room to get past him but he stayed in the throttle anyway— until he quite literally ran out of track.
The No. 88 car hit the protective dir and launched into the air.

It looked like a scene straight out of the Dukes of Hazzard.
The driver was completely fine.
“A WILD and crazy ride for Kevin Moore — but he walked away,” wrote the Super Late Model Series. “Safety crews attended the scene immediately and Kevin was able to climb out of his car and walk away! We are all so thankful Kevin is okay after this one!”
It would’ve been a lot worse if Moore had stayed at full speed as he drove into the woods behind the track. Maybe the berm did do its job after all?!
