The NFL offseason is in full swing and we’re beginning to hear rumblings about a potential Rob Gronkowski return to the field. Ahead of the NFL combine, Denver-based reporter Cecil Lammey reported that Gronk is currently training in Colorado and could be interested in playing for the Broncos due to his relationship with Sean Payton.
League sources tell me 4X Super Bowl champion TE Rob Gronkowski is considering a return to the NFL.
He worked with Sean Payton at Fox & I’m told he loves Denver & QB Bo Nix. (2 of his brothers, Dan and Chris, had short stints with the team).

Sources tell me Gronkowski has been working out in Vail this offseason as he wants to physically be ready for another NFL season. High-altitude training in the offseason could help him prepare for the rigors of training camp if a team shows interest.
Could that team be the Denver Broncos? Two of his brothers, Chris and Dan, both had short stints with the team over 10 years ago and I’ve heard the Gronkowski family loves the city and the team. Not only that, but sources also tell me that Gronkowski would love to play for head coach Sean Payton, whom he worked with at Fox during the 2022 season, and likes what he’s seen from quarterback Bo Nix.
Fans reacted to news of Gronk’s potential NFL return on social media.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” said one fan.
“A 36 year old that hasn’t played the last 3 years? This seems pretty suspect,” commented another fan.
During a recent appearance Julian Edelman’s Dudes on Dudes podcast, Gronk spoke about the possibility of returning on the field because he felt he was working harder these days as an NFL analyst.
“I was talking to my brother, actually, yesterday, and I told him, ‘Hey, I might as well go back to football because I’m grinding harder than I ever grinded before, and I’m not even playing football,'” Gronkowski said.
“So like, I might as well go back because playing ball would be easier than what I’ve been doing over the last six months.”
“I appreciate all the people in my life. I appreciate all my jobs. I’m definitely thankful for every job that I had throughout the season.”
