Red Sox minor league prospect Roman Anthony is making headlines this week after being seen sneaking past hopeful fans waiting for autographs after a game against a rival club. The team snuck their superstar out of the stadium, Taylor Swift-style, in order to avoid the crowd.
Anthony was tucked away in an equipment cart and covered by locker room items. He was then escorted covertly to the team bus without being noticed.

Anthony got the Taylor Swift treatment. His exit, while on a much smaller scale, mirrored those of the world’s largest pop star.
Swift has been spotted being escorted out of venues in janitor carts and other backstage equipment. Some Swifties speculated that the Kansas City Chiefs used a popcorn stand to tote her out of Arrowhead Stadium after a game last season.

Roman Anthony is the top player in Boston’s minor league system. MLB.com ranks him as the best pro prospect in baseball, regardless of organization.
His production at the minor league level has a number of Red Sox supporters begging for the team to call him up to the bigs. It hasn’t happened thus far, but that could soon change.
The Padres are reportedly interested in acquiring Boston outfielder Jarren Duran. A trade might open a spot for Anthony on the everyday roster.
The former second-round MLB Draft pick is currently hitting .303 with eight home runs and 23 RBIs in Triple-A Worchester. His massive popularity was on display following his most recent game in Scranton.
Roman Anthony went 1-for-5 in that contest against the Yankees’ minor league affiliate. That performance wrapped up a month of May in which his hit .317.
His next step could be an appearance in Boston. Expect his fanbase to follow should he make the move the Major Leagues.
