If you don’t know the name Hogan Windish, you’re probably not alone.

Windish is a 25-year-old prospect in the Seattle Mariners farm system who isn’t among the team’s top 30 prospects according to MLB.com.

But the former UNC-Greensboro star put his name on the map on Wednesday with an incredible four home run, nine RBI night for the Double-A Arkansas Travelers.

Windish drove in all nine runs in a 9-4 victory over the Springfield Cardinals.

He became only the second professional with nine RBIs in a game since it became an official statistic in 1920. Mike Greenwell of the Boston Red Sox had nine RBIs in a 10-inning win at Seattle on Sept. 2, 1996.

Windish began the night with a walk in the first inning. He then hit a grand slam to left-center in the third inning, hit a pair of two-run homers to right-center in the fifth and seventh off, and capped the night with a solo shot to center field in the top of the ninth.

Now, sadly, this isn’t likely to catapult Windish’s career any time soon.

He’s 25 years old and a career .267 hitter in the minor leagues. He’s hitting just .221 this season, though Windish does have a .340 on-base percentage.

Windish is a natural first baseman who also plays second base and left field.

The Mariners selected him in the seventh round of the 2022 MLB Draft.

Prior to the breakout performance, Windish had not homered since May 21 and had just one home run since April 9.

Last season, he hit .270 with 22 homers and 84 RBIs with High-A Everett.
