NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs has filed a lawsuit against reality TV star Mulan Hernandez (real name: Mia Jones) and another woman, and Brianna “Brii” Mack, alleging extortion and assault. Diggs claims in his lawsuit that he was punched in the chest by Jones and “threatened with a deadly weapon.”
According to court documents obtained by the Houston Chronicle, Stefon Diggs’ six-count lawsuit claims the four-time Pro Bowler has been victimized as part of “a tale of abuse to extort millions of dollars.” He is now seeking damages for “defendant misconduct and the destruction of his property.”
“There were threats coming from [Jones] that he had to pay her money or she was going to go public and ruin his career,” Diggs’ attorney Kent Schaffer told the Chronicle on Thursday. “We’re kind of at the point where the threats have to stop. That’s why the decision was made to go ahead and file. At some point it just has to end.”
Schaffer also claimed that the trouble started for Diggs after having what he called a “casual relationship.” At various points in the relationship, Diggs claims, Mia Jones destroyed the wide receiver’s property, including a wristwatch and PC gaming system, and “refused to leave” his apartment.
The lawsuit also states that as a result of the extortion attempts and trespassing on his property by Jones and , Diggs suffered “severe emotional distress.”
Jones has claimed that she visited the hospital in June, a week after Jones and Mack allegedly destroyed Diggs’ property, seeking treatment after being “punched in the back of the head with a closed fist.”
“My understanding is that [Jones] and [Mack] on [June 14] went to the hospital together making complaints. She was treated and released the same day,” Schaeffer said. “She didn’t see [Diggs] that day.”
On Wednesday, Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio discussed whether Stefon Diggs would return to the team in 2025, telling The Pat McAfee Show, “Glad he was on our team last year. He helped us win some games. Unfortunately, he got injured. So we’ll kind of work through the process with him. We have an open door policy. We don’t rule anything out, so we’ll have an open mind. We’ll figure out what makes the most sense and if there is a fit.”
