Watching your favorite sports team lose stinks. Watching your favorite sports team lose an important playoff game is even worse. But watching your favorite sports team lose an important playoff game when your dad is the team’s best player is perhaps the worst feeling ever. Don’t believe us? Just ask Steph Curry‘s son Canon how he felt after the Golden State Warriors dropped a would-be series-ending Game 6 to the Houston Rockets at Oracle Arena on Friday night.

The NBC Sports Bay Area social media team shared a heartbreaking video of an interaction between father and son Curry after the loss. In the video, Steph approaches his seemingly forlorn son with a perplexed look on his face. As he walks closer, Canon Curry turns away and hugs his mom, Ayesha. At that point, Sonya Curry, Steph’s mother, informs the Warriors’ star that Canon is upset that the team lost.

But not only is Steph Curry one of the greatest NBA players of all time, he also appears to be a great father. He gets Canon’s attention and says, “Guess what, we got one more game on Sunday. It’s okay.”

Canon, still devastated by the loss, turns back to Ayesha. But it was heartwarming to see Steph try to put his 6-year-old son at ease. As for the older Curry, he’s had an up-and-down series while dealing with a thumb injury, which the Rockets have attempted to exploit.

Curry scored 29 points in the Game 6 loss. But he shot up 9-of-23 from the field and 6-of-16 from beyond the arc. Golden State now travels back to Houston on Sunday for an all-important Game 7 showdown with the upstart Rockets.
