Texas A&M closed out one of the most impressive wins of the 2024 college football season with help from its legendary 12th Man on Saturday. Aggies fans created a raucous atmosphere at Kyle Field and helped propel their team to victory over LSU.
A viral video from the lower bowl finally does justice to the crowd noise, which is often hard to capture.
The decibel level in College Station usually hovers around 117 decibels, which is the equivalent of a rock concert. A blocked punt by Texas A&M caused the crowd to reach a record-breaking 126 decibels during a game against Alabama in 2017. Saturday came extremely close at 122 decibels.
Kyle Field announced a crowd of 108,852, the third-largest in program history. It was packed.

Four-star linebacker recruit Tank King said “the crowd was the loudest it has ever been in all the games I came to.” ESPN at one point showed its camera literally shaking because of the noise after LSU committed a penalty during the fourth quarter. ‘Mo Bamba’ (which is still a very ironic song choice) had the place absolutely rocking.

Players on the field could not hear themselves think. Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was visibly rattled throughout the entire evening, after he foolishly downplayed the 12th Man’s impact prior to the season. The Aggies even trolled him on the scoreboard on multiple occasions during the game.
Cellphone videos of the crowd noise at any sporting event do not usually translate. You can’t fully understand the deafening levels of volume unless you are there to experience it in person.
That is especially true at Kyle Field.
However, a new TikTok video filmed from one of the front three rows of the lower bowl gets pretty close. It is the first time I have ever seen a video accurately represent the insanity of the 12th Man.
Texas A&M is in great position to make the College Football Playoff. If the Aggies can keep up their winning ways, the crowd noise at a playoff game would be insane.
