Don’t look now but Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods are currently tied for the lead after the first round of the PNC Championship in Orlando. They will compete for their first-ever title in the parent/child event at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club on Sunday.
As has been the case since Charlie first stepped out onto the course with his dad, he once again looked identical to Tiger throughout the first round.
Team Woods sits at 13-under par through 18 holes. As do Team Langer and Team Singh. Teams Lehman, Harrington, O’Meara, Kuchar and Annika are also in the mix at -10 or lower.
Regardless of how things play out during the final round, this year’s showing was a great success for Tiger in particular. He underwent another microdecompression surgery on his lumbar spine back in September and rehabbed his way back to the course over the last few months. For him to swing it as well as he did on Saturday is a massive win for the greatest of all-time.
The 48-year-old looked strong and surprisingly comfortable off of the tee.
Tiger looks pretty good for not having played much. Two weeks ago in the Bahamas he did not even hit short shots on the range pic.twitter.com/nzRhz3xGXy

And his wedge game was cooking!
OH, THAT IS NICE. 🐯

However, it was Charlie who carried Team Woods to its share of the lead. He hit a saucy bunker shot on the front nine to set up a tap-in birdie.
WOW, CHARLIE WOODS. 😳

What a bunker shot to set up a tap-in birdie.

His flat stick was also on fire throughout the entire afternoon. And just like his father, he walked in a lengthy putt long before it dropped in for birdie.
Like father, like son 🚶♂️

They shot a 59 on the day with Samantha on the bag and went into the clubhouse with a lead.
Tiger and Charlie Woods are right in it.

Tiger was thrilled with what he saw from Charlie. That feeling was mutual.
Making memories with the fam ❤️

Charlie Woods and Tiger Woods have identical mannerisms and it is hard to tell them apart when they are letting it rip on the driving range. Even their post-putt behavior looks exactly the same.
They just so happened to sync up on Saturday to an eerie extend.
Come for the putt, stay for Tiger and Charlie Woods perfectly in sync.
