Mother Nature wasn’t kind to those who went to Times Square for New Year’s Eve. According to CBS News, 1 million people were expected to pack Times Square to watch the ball drop at midnight.
A viral video on social media showed thousands of people rushing to stand near the ball.

Unfortunately for those standing at Times Square, freezing cold rain began pouring down on them hours before midnight.
