If Tom Cruise has his way, he’ll live to be over 100 years old and will continue making movies that entire time. And based one what we’ve seen during his iconic five-decade-long career, we really don’t have any evidence not to believe him, either.
While Tom Cruise’s stunts on the Mission: Impossible movies have earned him a half-joking half-serious reputation of being someone willing to die filming a movie stunt, the legendary movie star actually seems to have a far more long-term plan in mind: acting until he’s 100.
Speaking on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning — which hits theaters this Friday, May 23 — the 62-year-old Cruise said he never plans on retiring and wants to make all sorts of movies into his 100s.
“I’m going to make movies into my 100s. I will never stop doing action, I will never stop doing drama, comedy films,” Cruise told The Hollywood Reporter at the New York City premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning on Sunday, May 18.

While acting after turning 90 certainly isn’t unheard of — Rita Moreno, Clint Eastwood, William Shatner, June Squibb, Robert Duvall, James Hong, and Angela Lansbury are just some of the most prominent examples in recent years — acting in the 100s would be a uniquely Cruisian feat.
Cruise, a famous lover of both movie theaters and popcorn, was later spotted at the event chatting up the employees at the Lincoln Square AMC that the premiere was held at.
