I did not expect to be talking about Tom Sandoval or America’s Got Talent on a random afternoon in June, but here we are. The former Vanderpump Rules villain recently performed a cover of ‘Take On Me‘ by A-ha for NBC’s talent show competition that was actually really good.

Can he win? I don’t know. Did he sound so much better than I expected? Absolutely.

Sandoval, for those who do not know, got famous through reality television. The 42-year-old was a main character on the Bravo series ‘Vanderpump Rules’ throughout its entire existence from 2013 to 2024. He is perhaps most (in)famous for his shocking breakup with his ex-wife. Sandoval and Ariana Madix very publicly separated after she discovered he had been cheating on him with her best friend. The highly-scrutinized scandal was known as ‘Scandoval.’ It was the main focus of the show’s final season.

Tom Sandoval took a break from the public eye for a few months after the Season 10 reunion. He later resurfaced on The Masked Singer as ‘Diver.’

Sandoval most recently appeared on season three of the U.S. version of The Traitors. His image is slowly coming back. People don’t seem to hate him quite as much as they used to. (I definitely do not know that for sure!)

With that out of the way, lets talk America’s Got Talent. Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras performed a cover of ‘Take On Me’ by A-ha. I got dragged into all of the Vanderpump Rules drama by my wife so I couldn’t not listen. And, you know what, it was a really good performance!

I’ll be honest. I did not think Sandoval sounded great at the start. He really grew on me by the end. I think Simon Cowell would agree based on his facial expressions.

Does Tom Sandoval win America’s Got Talent? I doubt it. Did he do enough to make me listen to the entire thing? Absolutely. I could seem him (and his band) making a little run!
