If Travis Hunter wasn’t projected to be a top-five pick in the NFL Draft as the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, he could also be a lottery pick in the NBA Draft as the Naismith Player of the Year. He put his basketball skills on display with a sick dunk show as an honorary two-sport star for the Colorado Buffaloes prior to Saturday’s home game in Boulder.

There has never been another athlete like him before and there may never be another athlete like him again.

Hunter started at wide receiver and defensive back for Collins Hill High School, just like he does for Colorado. Whenever football season ended, the Georgia-native would also start at point guard.

Although his future was on the gridiron, Hunter absolutely could have played Division-I basketball. He pulled up to the rec center and hooped all over some unsuspecting Buffaloes at this time last year.

Fast forward ~12 months and Travis Hunter is officially crowned as the best player in college football. He is the Heisman Trophy winner as of seven days ago.

With the Alamo Bowl on the horizon, Hunter and Shedeur Sanders took a break from practice to join the basketball team for its home game against Bellarmine. They got uniforms and everything.

Colorado even introduced them as part of the starting lineup!

As part of the experience, Hunter and Sanders got to partake in pregame warmups. They had the floor to themselves while the (actual) team gathered in the locker room before tip off. Sanders got some shots up while Hunter put on an epic dunk show that included a recreation of Dwayne Wade’s lob to LeBron.

Hunter’s bounce is ridiculous, as was on display with his first jam.

Seriously, though. Just look at it:

If that wasn’t crazy enough, Hunter out-did himself with his second attempt. He threw down the most causal Eastbay dunk as if it isn’t remarkably difficult for 99.99% of the world’s population.

Even though Colorado’s basketball team is 9-2 through its first 11 games, head coach Tad Boyle might want to consider a mid-year addition. Travis Hunter could get real minutes!!
