U.S. Army reservist and Olympic pole vaulter, Sam Kendricks, was running for an attempt during today’s Olympic pole vaulting qualifying rounds when he heard the national anthem play somewhere in the background. Kendrick then immediately stopped his run, dropped his pole, and turned to face the flag.
