UFC CEO Dana White is opening up after the death of Charlie Kirk. Last week, Kirk was shot and killed at an event in Utah. Over the weekend, the UFC was one of the first sports leagues to honor Kirk during the Noche UFC event in Texas.

On Friday, White spoke to Bret Baier for an interview on FOX News Channel’s Special Report to talk and was asked about Kirk’s death.
White, who was friends with Kirk, called for unity and getting the “country back together” amid all the infighting happening.
“You know, things started to — to feel better and get normal again and then — and then that happened. And it’s almost like, you know, it’s all starting over again. I think, you know, not just my daughter, you know, a lot of kids were impacted by this, and kids who loved and respected Charlie, and it’s just — it’s kind of hard to wrap your brain around that — when something like this happens.
“And, listen, all I’m looking for, you know, over the rest of this year and into next year is some unity, coming back together as a country, and — and stop all the infighting and the finger-pointing and, you know, just some normalcy again. Let — let this country get back to normal.”

White also spoke to Baier about the upcoming UFC White House event, which he hopes can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of political affiliation.
“I love one-of-one type events like we did at the Sphere last year for UFC Noche. You know, and — and this is a one-of-one incredible opportunity not only for the fans, for the sport, but for the fighters. For the fighters to be able to be a part of something like this, it’s incredible. And then for the fans, I mean, to come to Washington, D.C., all week and — and go to these historic places and be able to, you know, enjoy UFC and, you know, all the history that D.C. has, it’s — it’s a one-of-one experience.”
“It’s going to be awesome. And it’s one of those events, no matter what side you’re on, come hang in Washington, D.C., for the week. Take your family around. Take in all the history. And then, whether you — whether you get into the fight or you go over to the Ellipse, it’s going to be a special night.”
