When Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Suni Lee began regularly showing up an New York Knicks games this past season, rumors began to swirl about a relationship between Lee and one of the players on the team.

One of the most commons rumors involved Lee and Knicks forward OG Anunoby, especially after cameras caught the two speaking with one another. But now Lee has thrown cold water on those rumors.

“Honestly, it just started off as a joke, and I feel like social media kind of just, like, took it further than that,” the former Auburn University star told Mirror U.S. Sports.

Suni Lee Sets The Record Straight On Rumored Relationship With OG Anunoby

Lee clarified that she is friends with Anunoby. But she’s also friends with other players on the team, and that there’s no romantic relationship between she and Anunoby of anyone else on the New Yofrk Knicks.

“But yeah, we’re just friends, and I’m really good friends with a bunch of the guys on the Knicks team, like [Karl-Anthony Towns], and then also I’m really close to [socialite and Towns’ partner Jordyn Woods] as well, so it’s cool to see them doing their thing. Honestly, I just enjoy watching basketball, which is why I went to most of the games.”

She could have left it there. But Lee really wanted to emphasize that she and Anunoby are not dating.

“There’s nothing there. We’re just friends. I fully support all of them, and I support the Knicks,” she continued.

It’s entirely reasonable for Lee to shut down any noise around she and Anunoby. In fact, it was a bit ridiculous that anyone suggested they were together to begin with, given the fact that the links were tenuous, at best.

But man, she really hammered it home there. So much so, even, that Knicks fans on social media began to feel bad for Anunoby. Something tells us Anunobdy and his five-year, $212.5 million contract will survive this potential heartbreak, however.
