Islam Makhachev made quick work of Alex Volkanovski.
Makhachev dismissed Volk’s chances ahead of that and claims the UFC featherweight champion took the fight on short notice because of the money.
“He’s just come to make money, he’s not brought his belt,”
“I have, I’ve put my winning streak and my belt here. Before I came here, he was never going to be the champion in my division.”
On Saturday, Makhachev knocked out Volkanovski in the first round of their fight at UFC 294 without taking much damage.

During his postfight press conference, Makhachev said he proved that he’s not just a wrestler, but the MMA fighter in the world.
“Some people underestimated my striking, in the first fight I showed people my striking, I think now, people will respect my striking and I show I’m not just wrestler, grappler or striker, and I know I am best MMA fighter in the World”
