Viktor Hovland has done very well for himself since joining the PGA Tour five years ago. However, he’s had some trouble figuring out how to spend the tens of millions of dollars he’s made and gave the ultimate “Dudes Rock” answer while shedding some light on some of the stuff he’s decided to treat himself to.
It can be difficult for the average person to truly grasp just how much money the best golfers on the planet are able to rake in, as there are more than a few guys on the PGA Tour who’ve earned more dough in a single year than some people will make over the course of their entire life.
That includes Viktor Hovland, who turned pro in 2019 and joined the PGA Tour in 2020 to kick off a career where he’s already taken home close to $69 million in career earnings alone on top of the endorsement deals that come with spending multiple years in the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking.
The 27-year-old Norwegian has been transparent about his struggles to adjust to a life where he can basically buy anything his heart desires, and that is apparently still the case based on what he had to say about some of his most recent acquisitions.
Viktor Hovland still isn’t going out of his way to make any extravagant purchases based on the relatable acquisitions he’s dropped some cash on
In 2022, Hovland shed some light on how his life had changed in the wake of some big wins on the PGA Tour when he noted he no longer has to worry about paying extra for guacamole at his beloved Chipotle and also doesn’t have to think twice about getting double meat.
“Instead of not getting guac at Chipotle, I can get double meat.”

He also noted he wasn’t in a rush to make ” materialistic” purchases when he talked about treating his mom to a trip to Malta after winning the Tour Championship and the $18 million prize that came with the victory in 2023—a stance that hasn’t changed too much a couple of years later.
Hovland sat down with his caddie, Shay Knight, ahead of The British Open for a sitdown where he fielded a question about his first big purchase, and he struggled to come up with an answer while offering a little bit of insight into his spending habits.
Here’s what he had to say:
“I haven’t spent that much money…A couple of weeks ago, I was on a boys’ trip in Marbella, so I try to spend money on things that are fun, like activities.
In terms of things, there’s not that many things to buy. I bought a nice grill to grill some steak, and I bought a Ninja blender; it cuts it up pretty nicely. Just things like that.”
What’s better than guys being dudes?
