Vince McMahon has largely disappeared from the public eye in the wake of the disturbing allegations that brought his time as the head of the WWE to an end. However, he has another legal matter on his plate in the wake of a car crash that resulted in some significant damage to the luxury vehicle he was driving at the time.

At this point, I feel like most people are aware of the dramatic fall from grace that led to Vince McMahon being forced to abandon the empire he created as the driving force behind the pro wrestling behemoth that is the WWE.

The former chairman and CEO of the company had been dogged by allegations of sexual assault and harassment throughout his career before things snowballed in 2022 after an investigation discovered he’d collectively given four women $12 million in hush money in an attempt to sweep various accusations under the rug.

That development sparked a temporary retirement that ended when he returned to the WWE in an official capacity in 2023 only to resign in disgrace the following year in the wake of an explosive lawsuit filed by Janel Grant, a former employee, which was filled with some revolting accusations that sparked a Department of Justice investigation that was dropped earlier this year (Grant’s lawsuit is still making its way through the system).

The soon-to-be 80-year-old has attempted to keep a low profile since then, but he’s made headlines yet again after being accused of causing a traffic collision in Connecticut.

Vince McMahon was charged with reckless driving in the wake of a collision that did some serious damage to his Bentley

McMahon regularly commuted from his mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut to the WWE headquarters in Stamford while he was still involved with the company, and according to CT Insider, he was in The Nutmeg State on the evening of July 24th when he was involved in an incident that unfolded on the Merritt Parkway in the vicinity of the town of Westport.

An accident report put together by the Connecticut State Police says McMahon’s 2024 Bentley Continental collided with the rear of a BMW before the former’s vehicle slammed into a median. That impact also dislodged some debris that ended up on the opposite side of the highway and struck a Ford Fusion traveling in the opposite direction.

A woman named Barbara Doran said she was the person driving the BMW in a Facebook post where she claimed McMahon “hit me going 80-90mph” and shared photos of the damage to her vehicle as well as his Bentley (which has a base price of more than $250,000), noting the latter had its front wheels “sheared off.”

She added an unmarked police car had been following McMahon and said the officer told her he’d flashed his lights to pull him over just before the collision occurred. He was subsequently hit with a misdemeanor charge for reckless driving and is set to answer in court on August 26th after posting a $500 bond.
