Six weeks into the 2025 NFL season we have a lot of movement in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings including a new #1 ranked QB. As we do every week, here we rank all 32 NFL starting quarterbacks from top to bottom.

Everything changes around here week to week. Some of the league’s best starting quarterbacks looked pedestrian in Week 6 and that gets reflected in the power rankings, of course. While some starting QBs surprised us (looking at you, Atlanta).

Week 6 Power Rankings: Ranking All 32 Starting NFL Quarterbacks In The 2025 NFL Season

During last week’s NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings we learned a lot and that’s the case each week, though I suspect the fluctuations week over week will normalize at some point!

32. Justin Fields – New York Jets (Prev. 18)

I don’t think it’s entirely unreasonable to say that Justin Fields at Tottenham Stadium was the worst performance from an NFL quarterback that we’ve ever seen abroad. The Jets had -10 passing yards at one point… Let that sink in.

He had zero touchdowns. Took 9 sacks for 55 yards. And had a QBR of just 9.0. Fields earned the #32 spot in the Week 6 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings with a truly trash performance.

31. Cooper Rush – Baltimore Ravens (Prev. 32)

Moving up one spot from dead last is Cooper Rush who debuted at 32 last week and played so bad in Week 6 that he got benched. That’s how bad Justin Fields was this week, a player that got benched is ranked better than him!

Cooper Rush was 11 of 19 passing for 72 yards and an interception before he hit the bench and Tyler Huntley took over with nearly identical stats. Some are saying the Jets are cursed.

30. Geno Smith – Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 31)

Geno Smith got a W this week so he has that going for him. He was 17 of 23 passing for 174 yards with 1/1 TD/INT.

Geno has been struggling to find himself this season. Tre Tucker has at times shown flashes of brilliance with Geno Smith but the 2-4 Raiders need more from Geno Smith if they plan on competing for the division.

29. Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins (Prev. 20)

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa

It seems fair to characterize Tua Tagovailoa‘s performance this week as doodoo. Tua was 21/32 passing for 205 yards, an average of 6.4 yds/attempt. He did have one passing TD to Darren Waller but Tua threw three interceptions. Three!

Despite turning the ball over three times the game remained close. Miami lost 29-27 at home to the Chargers and it is hard to imagine that happening with Tua’s three turnovers.

28. Joe Flacco – Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. Unranked)

Has anyone told Joe Flacco that he doesn’t have to keep playing? He is every bit of 40 years old and by that I mean on some days he’s as good as he once was and others he’s ready for retirement.

In his first game for the Bengals, Flacco looked solid. He was 29/45 passing for 2 TDs and 0 interceptions. Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins had a combined 20 targets from Flacco. And in the end they lost, again, 27-18 to eh Packers.

27. Bo Nix – Denver Broncos (Prev. 22)

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix

Bo Nix was basically gifted a win in London by virtue of having to play against the Jets. He was just 19 of 30 in passing for 174 yards and 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions.

Despite the substandard stat line they beat the Jets 13-11. It feels like Bo Nix has been doing *just enough* to get the win week after week but he’s yet to string together great back-to-back outings.

26. Dillon Gabriel – Cleveland Browns (Prev. 27)

Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel

Dillon Gabriel moved up a spot after debuting at 27 last week. He was on the business end of a 23-9 loss to Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers…

Dillon Gabriel was called on to throw the ball A LOT. I cannot for the life of me understand why offensive coordinators force unseasoned QBs to do this but Dillon Gabriel threw the ball 52 times and connected on just 29 of those passes. He had 221 yards, 0 TDs and 0 interceptions. That was an improvement over last week for him though.

25. Cam Ward – Tennessee Titans (Prev. 29)

Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

One week after picking up his first NFL win of the season, Cam Ward is moving up 2 spots in the NFL Starting Quarterback Power rankings from 29th to 27th. Huge.

Cam Ward was 26-of-38 passing for 222 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. He fumbled the ball not once but twice. The three turnovers from Cam Ward almost certainly explain the 20-10 less to the Raiders on the road.

24. Jaxson Dart – New York Giants (Prev. 23)

Giants QB Jaxson Dart

Jaxson Dart got a huge win this week against Philly. But it wasn’t really Jaxson Dart doing all the work, it was Cam Skattebo and his 3 touchdowns on 98 yards on the ground.

Dart was 17 of 25 passing for 195 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. He’d take that stat line EVERY WEEK if the end result was the same.

23. Spencer Rattler – New Orleans Saints (Prev. 28)

New Orleans Saints starting quarterback Spencer Rattler

Spencer Rattler took another L at home this week. He was 20/26 passing for 227 yards. Pretty right, right?

But his 72.3 QBR was tied to Dart throwing 0 touchdowns but also 0 interceptions. It was the New Orleans kicker putting up all the points for the Saints this week, not Rattler’s contributions.

22. Bryce Young – Carolina Panthers (Prev. 28)

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young

Bryce Young picked up the second win of the season for the Carolina Panthers, beating Miami 27-24 at home. His stats were mostly solid, he was 19/30 passing for 198 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

Bryce did lose a fumble which could’ve been a big story had they not gone on to win the game. Ball protection is key for young QBs but he’s making solid progress week over week in the NFC South.

21. Trevor Lawrence – Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 17)

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence was pretty much the only thing going well for the Jags against the Seahawks. He lost 20-12 but put together a respectable statline of 258 yards and 2 touchdowns (0 INT).

Did he throw the ball 42 times and only connect on 27 of those passes? Yes. Is that a pretty horrendous completion rate for a franchise quarterback? Also yes. But the team only had 59 rushing yards and he was trying to force things to come together.

20. Jared Goff – Detroit Lions (Prev. 14)

© Lon Horwedel-Imagn Images

What are we supposed to make of Jared Goff? Some days he plays just fine enough to win a game, some games he balls out and doesn’t get rewarded for it.

In Week 6 he ran up against the Chiefs and had a very respectable stat line, going 23/29 in passing for 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions but he took a 30-17 loss against Mahomes and the Chiefs with neither Jahmyr Gibbs or David Montgomery ever able to help him out on the ground. The Lions face the Buccaneers next week on Monday night. Which Goff will we see?

19. Aaron Rodgers – Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 21)

Aaron Rodgers with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers was the architect of an forceful 23-9 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 6. Rodgers was 21/30 passing, had 235 passing yards which was good for 12th in the league this week, and he threw 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

Aaron Rodgers has a passing TD in every game so far this season. DK Metcalf has been routinely making him look good and vice versa. Rodgers could crack the top 10 of the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings next week if he goes off against the Bengals on Thursday Night Football.

18. Michael Penix Jr. – Atlanta Falcons (Prev. 26)

Michael Penix Jr.

Michael Penix Jr. began to flash some of the reasons why the Falcons believe in him by making some big time throws against the Buffalo Bills. He picked up a 24-14 win against a team that many expected to be Super Bowl bound this season.

Penix was 20/32 passing for 250 yards and 1 touchdown (0 INTs), and ofr that he moved up 8 spots in this week’s NFL starting quarterback power rankings.

17. Jayden Daniels – Washington Commanders (Prev. 15)

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels was accurate this week. You can say that for him. He connected on 10 of his first 11 passes. He finished with 19/26 and 3 touchdowns (1 interception).

The Commanders lost a close one at home to Caleb Williams and the Bears. But Jayden Daniels was doing it all, he also had 50 yards on the ground. He looked sharp and I expect him to rise in the power rankings next week.

16. Jacoby Brissett – Arizona Cardinals (Prev. Unranked)

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett

Debuting at #15 this week in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings and starting in place of Kyler Murray for the Arizona Cardinals is Jacoby Brissett. An NFL veteran, he showed some of his best stuff this week.

Brissett was 2nd in the league this week in passing yards with 320. He had 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 19 yards on the ground. Unfortunately, he ran up against the Daniel Jones-Jonathan Taylor duo and the Cardinals ultimately lost 27-31. It’s unclear how long Kyler Murray will be out and if we’ll see Jacoby again but he was on fire in Week 6.

15. C.J. Stroud – Houston Texans (Prev. 11)

Houston Texas quarterback C.J. Stroud

C.J. Stroud is on bye this week and fell four spots only because of the players around him. They’ll face the Seahawks on the road next week and with C.J. Stroud trending in the right direction it could set up an incredible QB battle with Sam Darnold.

14. Carson Wentz – Minnesota Vikings (Prev. 10)

Carson Wentz was on bye this week so he only dropped four spots. He had a great game but a close win over the Browns last week and we could see a lot of movement this week as the Vikings will face the Eagles and what we see from Carson Wentz will speak volumes.

13. Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears (Prev. 14)

Caleb Williams Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams picked up a close win on the road against the Commanders. He had 252 passing yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, and moved up one spot in this week’s power rankings.

D’Andre Swift was everywhere in this game and had Caleb Williams looking good. He led the team in receiving yards with 67 and a touchdown (108 rushing yards). Caleb Williams will be wise to keep feeding him the rock.

12. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills (Prev. 6)

Bills QB Josh Allen

Josh Allen is one of the to quarterbacks in the league. We all know this. Did he look like it in the first half against the Atlanta Falcons? Absolutely not, but the Bills’ offense didn’t spend a ton of time on the field either.

11. Jordan Love – Green Bay Packers (Prev. 13)

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Benny Sieu-Imagn Images

Jordan Love wasn’t tested too much in Week 6 but he balled out nonetheless to move the Packers to 3-1-1 on the season and remain undefeated at home. Love was 19-for-26 passing for 259 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

Love spread the ball around and had three receivers over 55 receiving yards, he also ran for 26 yards himself which was second best on the team. If anything, Jordan Love has been consistently solid so far this season and the Packers are in a great spot with him leading this offense right now while much of the NFC faces the injury bug.

10. Justin Herbert – Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 16)

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert

Kyle Terada-Imagn Images

Chargers QB Justin Herbert is back in the top 10 of the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings this week after falling out last week following a disastrous performance. But he rebounded hard to prove that last week was nothing but a fluke.

Herbert was 29-for-38 passing and picked up a close with over Miami with 264 passing yards (5th best this week), 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. The Chargers are now 4-2 on the season and this win might be the catalyst that leads to personnel changes in Miami. My prediction on Herbert is he ends this season as a top 5 QB in the power rankings.

9. Jalen Hurts – Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 9)

Jalen Hurts

© Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images

Jalen Hurts had the most passing yards in a game he’s seen this season with 283 in the Eagles’ loss to the New York Giants. Hurts was 24/33 passing with 1 touchdown and one interception. He also had a rushing TD and pretty much accounted for all offensive production from the Eagles in Week 6.

While Saquon Barkley was struggling against his former team, Jalen Hurts picked up the slack but it simply wasn’t enough in a game where Cam Skattebo ate his Wheaties before hand and ran for 98 yards and 3 TDs. Hurts continues to improve week over week in QB stats though and it’s only a matter of time before they start looking like Super Bowl champions once again.

8. Sam Darnold – Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 12)

Seahawks QB Sam Darnold moved up 4 more spots this week in the NFL Quarterback Power Rankings from 12th to 8th. He was third in the league this week in passing yards with 295 in a win against Jacksonville to keep the Seahawks’ road win streak going.

Darnold had 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and was 16-for-27 passing. The 121.7 passer rating was 5th best in the league this week and Darnold ranks 6th in the NFL this season with an average passer rating of 116. Seattle is 3-0 on the road (4-2 overall) this season and that starts and ends with Sam.

7. Drake Maye – New England Patriots (Prev. 9)

After a 3-9 rookie season the expectations were sky high for Drake Maye who needed to either rise to the challenge set before him or face getting benched and fighting for reps as a career backup… He’s chosen the former over the latter and he has moved up to seventh in the Week 6 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings.

The Patriots are 4-2 this season an undefeated on the road. Drake Maye and the Patriots picked up another one of those road wins on Sunday against the Saints where Maye looked outstanding with 261 passing yards (6th best in the league), 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He also led his team in rushing with 28 yards.

Apparently, New England has decided that running the ball isn’t part of their plan this season but that’s okay because Drake Maye ranks 5th in the NFL through six weeks with 1,522 passing yards.

6. Daniel Jones – Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 4)

Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Daniel Jones

© Robert Goddin-Imagn Images

Daniel Jones and the Colts scored 14 points in the 4th quarter at home against Arizona to snatch a 31-27 win away from the Arizona Cardinals in a game where both quarterbacks were dealing. By his recent standards, this was a slower week for Daniel Jones. He was 22/30 passing for 212 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

While Daniel Jones’ MVP odds might be slipping, he still has the Colts looking great and they are 5-1 on the season.

5. Matthew Stafford – Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 1)

Matthew Stafford LA Rams

© Kirby Lee/Imagn

Matthew Stafford had been holding strong in the #1 spot for a few weeks but had a pedestrian performance that dropped him behind a few QBs that have been surging. He was 17 for 26 in passing for 181 yards, 1 touchdown, and 0 interceptions.

It was a beat down in Baltimore. They beat the Ravens 17-3 and Stafford didn’t have to do much to pick up the win, just control the offense.

4. Mac Jones – San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 8)

quarterback Mac Jones

© Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

Mac Jones had another opportunity to showcase his talent with Brock Purdy still out with injury. Jones seized that opportunity and led the league in passing yards with 347 (27-for-39). But the 49ers still had trouble finding the end zone an d he had 0 TDs and 2 INTs.

This marked back-to-back games with Mac Jones throwing for over 300 yards. His lowest production through the air this season was 279 yards against New Orleans. And in Mac’s defense, this was his first loss and it was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have looked good in every game so far this season.

3. Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 5)

Patrick Mahomes running with the ball

© Amanda Perobelli/Reuters via Imagn Images

Patrick Mahomes had the Kansas City Chiefs firing on all cylinders in a win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football that unfortunately ended with punches thrown on the field. Mahomes looked rock solid throughout and tied his career high for rushing TDs when he ran one in for Kansas City’s second score of the game.

Patty was 22/30 passing for 257 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. That put him in 10th in the league this week in yards but third in passer rating with a 132.2 just behind Baker Mayfield and Drake Maye. After starting 0-2 the Chiefs have won 3 of their last 4 games and Patrick has this offense looking like the Chiefs we’ve come to expect in recent years.

2. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 3)

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott passing the ball

© Scott Kinser-Imagn Images

After moving from 10th to 3rd place in last week’s NFL Quarterback Power Rankings, Dak is on the move again this week and all the way up to #2. He is unquestionably the MVP of the Cowboys right now and just about the only thing that looks remarkable week after week in that offense.

Dak Prescott was 25/34 passing for 261 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He had one fumble that he recovered and that was really the only misstep for him in the game where the Dallas Cowboys defense somehow managed to make the Panthers look good. Dak has been a rock in Dallas this season and they’ll need him to keep playing at such a high level to prevent the wheels from flying off the season.

1. Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Prev. 2)

Baker Mayfield and his small hands

© Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images

Moving into the #1 spot this week on the All 32 NFL Starting Quarterback Power Rankings is Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield. Anyone that has been watching ball this season could see this coming.

Baker and the Bucs had a season first this week when they were able to enter victory formation to run out the clock against the San Francisco 49ers in a game where Mayfield’s #1 target so far this season, Emeka Egbuka, missed the second half with a hamstring injury.

Mayfield also didn’t have Mike Evans and Chris Godwin Jr., #’s 1 and 2 on Tampa Bay’s all time receiving yards list. Did that stop him from scoring drive after drive and getting two Bucs’ their first touchdowns this season? It did not. Because that’s exactly what Baker did. He threw for 256 yards (17/23), 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Baker Mayfield has Tampa Bay looking like a legitimate NFL Playoffs contender at this point in the season.
