Isaac Wilson, the little brother of Denver Broncos quarterback Zach Wilson, made his college football debut for the University of Utah on Thursday night. It was pretty good, but certainly not great.

The four-star recruit had an up-and-down start to his career with most of his family in attendance.

Wilson completed seven of his 11 pass attempts for 74 yards and his first touchdown as a Ute. He also added 21 yards on the ground.

Unfortunately, Wilson also threw a pair of picks. One of which was especially ugly.

Assuming that Cam Rising can stay on the field, 2024 will serve as a great opportunity for the young signal-caller to learn and grow behind a seasoned veteran. His future is very bright.

Isaac Wilson is the first of four Wilson brothers to play for Utah. The other three played for BYU. As a result, the family is caught in the middle of the Holy War.

Lisa and Mike, the matriarch and patriarch, went to school in Salt Lake. She was a cheerleader. He was an offensive lineman. Their original allegiance was to the Utes until they refused to offer Zach.

The initial scholarship snub started a pipeline Wilson family to Provo over the past few years. Lisa and Mike graciously rooted for the Cougars even though they are technically rivals.

Life has since come full-circle!

Isaac Wilson is slinging it for Utah and will likely take over as the starting quarterback as a sophomore. His older brother took the quick trip over state lines to be in attendance for the game.

However, he refused to wear his rival’s colors! Zach Wilson was in neutral clothes from head to toe.

It was a good move. The Wilson family’s standing within the Utah and BYU communities is already seen as polarizing (which is silly) and it would’ve sent the state into a frenzy if Zach was repping the Utes.
